The care you need, when you need it most
Whether it’s a late-night fever or a weekend injury that can’t wait for Monday, there are some health concerns you don’t want to put off. With MyBSWHealth’s video visits, you see a licensed healthcare provider 24 hours a day, seven days a week—and get the care or answers you need as soon as possible, without ever leaving home.
You can access 24/7 video visits through MyBSWHealth on any device with a camera, including a desktop computer, a smartphone or a tablet. Visits are available in Texas for people ages 2 and up, which makes them a great option for adults and kids alike.
How to schedule a 24/7 video visit
Video visits allow you to meet with a provider, any time of day or night. You can discuss your symptoms during your visit, and the provider will give you a treatment plan that helps you get back to life quickly.
1. Access MyBSWHealth
Click the link below to log in using a web browser. You can also download the MyBSWHealth app to your smartphone or tablet, if you haven't already. For either option, you will need to create an account or sign in with your existing account.
2. Schedule your visit
3. Check in
Before your appointment, you’ll be prompted to complete an eCheck-In using your MyBSWHealth account. This allows you to provide insurance and other important information before your visit.
4. Launch your visit
Once you complete your eCheck-In, a “Launch Visit” button will appear under “Appointments” on your MyBSWHealth home screen. You’ll see the button up to five minutes before your scheduled appointment. Please note: The “Launch Visit” button will not appear if you have not completed the eCheck-In.
*Please note that video visit providers cannot offer referrals or order lab or imaging tests.
What can be treated during a 24/7 video visit?
You can use 24/7 video visits for minor illnesses and injuries, and other common health concerns that can’t wait for your doctor’s office to open or for an available in-person appointment. These visits give you the opportunity to talk to an actual provider over the internet, so you can get care quickly.
You can also use video visits for a prescription refill if you can’t see your doctor when you need one.
How do I prepare for a video visit?
Video visits work just like regular doctor visits, except they happen online. By following a few simple steps, you can get the most out of your visit.
Before your visit, you should make sure:
- Your device is fully charged.
- The MyBSWHealth app on your smartphone or tablet has access to the device’s camera and microphone.
- If you’re not using the app, you’re using a supported browser. We recommend using Google Chrome for the best experience.
- You have a strong WiFi connection or cell signal.
- You have a photo ID and your insurance information ready.
- You have completed the eCheck-In.
- You are seated in a quiet, well-lit place, not driving or walking around.
- You have headphones, if needed, for privacy or audio assistance.
During your visit
Like any doctor’s visit, what happens during your video visit depends largely on why you need the visit.
During the visit, take notes so you can reference any advice or instructions from the provider. You can ask the provider to send you a summary of your visit if needed.
If your video visit provider recommended following up with your primary care provider or another doctor, be sure to do so as soon as you can.
