Quality care from the comfort of your home
Virtual doctor visits work just like in-person visits with your Baylor Scott & White doctor or specialist. During a video visit, you can discuss symptoms or health concerns that don’t require a physical exam, speak about chronic conditions and ask a provider any questions you have, all from the comfort of your home.
Virtual doctor visits are a great option for routine or follow-up appointments with your primary care physician or specialists you see regularly. During online doctor visits, you can also discuss prescription refills and get answers to your questions about ongoing care.
For more urgent needs, 24/7 virtual urgent care is available with Baylor Scott & White on-call providers, including on weekends and holidays.
How to schedule an online doctor visit
You can schedule a video visit through your doctor’s office or directly through MyBSWHealth by following these steps:
- Log in to your MyBSWHealth account through the app or website.
- Click the Schedule & Search button.
- Select Schedule Now.
- Click Video Visit.
- Choose between My Doctor, Local Doctor or 24/7 Care tabs to select which provider you’d like to see, along with your preferred date and time.
Available providers may include a doctor of medicine (MD), a doctor of osteopathic medicine (DO) or an advanced practice provider (APP), each providing care tailored to your needs.
How to prepare for your virtual doctor visit
Video visits give you the opportunity to talk to a provider using the camera on your smartphone, tablet or computer. Here are some tips for a successful video visit.
Helpful tips for your virtual doctor visit
For a successful virtual doctor visit:
- Find a quiet, well-lit space where you're less likely to be interrupted.
- Log in to your MyBSWHealth app or account 15 minutes before your appointment.
- Complete eCheck-In, if you haven’t already.
- Locate your scheduled appointment on the dashboard and click the Launch Video Visit button.
- If the appointment is for a minor patient, a parent or guardian presence is required for the visit.
- Be in a stationary location, rather than walking around or driving in a car.
Having trouble?
- Confirm you have a strong Wi-Fi or cell signal during your video visit.
- If possible, try a different device (smartphone, computer, etc.).
- Confirm you have completed the eCheck-In, as this is required for the Launch Video Visit button to appear.
- Restart your device.
